Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
CatDo (“Can do”) is a micro-task productivity app with cozy cat-home gamification. You complete small tasks, earn in-app rewards (“PawBucks”), and furnish a virtual cat room.
CatDo is operated by Angelpet Studios, based in Casper, Wyoming, United States.
This Privacy Policy describes how CatDo handles information when you use the Android app distributed through Google Play. A copy of this policy is also available on the web for store listing and support purposes.
2. Short version
CatDo keeps your progress on your Android device by default. You may optionally sign in with Google to back up gameplay progress to CatDo's cloud save (Firebase). Optional notifications are generated locally on your phone. The Android app may show ads through Google AdMob (see below).
If you email us for support or feedback, or send a message through the in-app report form, we use the information you choose to send to troubleshoot issues, improve CatDo, and reply to you.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Information stored on your device
CatDo saves app and gameplay data locally on your Android device using the app's on-device storage. This may include:
- Tasks you add and their status
- PawBucks and other in-app rewards
- Furniture you own and room progress
- Your selected cat
- Sound preferences, including your selected task-ping meow sound
- Approximate play time
- Whether a “rate us” prompt has already been shown (only used in non-beta builds, to decide when to ask for optional feedback)
This information is used to make CatDo function and remember your progress and preferences.
Because this information is stored locally, clearing CatDo's app storage or uninstalling the app may permanently erase progress that is not also saved to an optional Google-linked cloud backup. Android system cloud backup of CatDo app data is disabled.
3A. Optional Google sign-in and cloud save
In Settings → Account, you can optionally sign in with Google to back up CatDo gameplay progress and restore it on another device. Signing in is optional; CatDo still works without an account.
If you choose to sign in, CatDo may process:
- Your Google account identifier (user ID)
- Email address and display name provided by Google Sign-In
- Gameplay save data (tasks, PawBucks, furniture, selected cat, and related progress)
Cloud save is provided using Google Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Google's privacy policy also applies to those services: policies.google.com/privacy.
You can sign out at any time in Settings. Signing out keeps the copy of progress already on your device and does not delete the cloud account.
To delete the Google-linked CatDo account and its Firebase data (Authentication user plus Firestore save), use Settings → Account → Delete cloud account while signed in. That deletion is immediate. You can also request deletion from our account deletion page or by emailing catdosupport@gmail.com. Web and email requests are completed within 30 days (usually sooner). Local progress on a phone is kept unless you clear CatDo storage or uninstall the app.
4. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, CatDo may show local alerts when a task pings or a reward is ready to claim.
You can revoke CatDo's notification permission at any time through your Android device settings.
CatDo does not use a CatDo remote push-notification server. Notifications are generated locally and depend on Android notification permissions and the app's ability to display local notifications.
5. Support and feedback messages
CatDo's “Report a problem” feature lets you type a message in the app and send it to us. Sending a message is optional.
Anything you choose to include, such as a description of an issue, steps to reproduce it, or an optional reply email, is provided voluntarily by you.
We use support and feedback messages only to:
- Troubleshoot problems
- Respond to you
- Understand bugs or usability issues
- Improve CatDo
We do not sell information contained in your support or feedback messages.
In-app report delivery may be processed by our form/email delivery provider (Web3Forms) solely to deliver your message to our support inbox at catdosupport@gmail.com.
6. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The CatDo Android app may display banner ads and optional rewarded video ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob and Google may collect or use device and advertising information (such as advertising IDs, IP address, and device/app data) to show ads, measure performance, and fight fraud and abuse, under Google's policies.
In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) may show a consent form before personalized ads. You can reopen those choices in Settings → Manage ad privacy. You can also limit ad personalization in Android settings (Google → Ads).
Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob help.
7. Information we do not collect through CatDo
CatDo does not currently collect or use:
- CatDo-created passwords (Google Sign-In is optional)
- CatDo-operated analytics trackers (AdMob/Google may still process advertising data as described above)
- Real-money purchase or payment card information
- Camera data
- Contacts
- Microphone recordings
- Your photo library
- Precise GPS location
Google Play and your Android device may independently process certain information, such as app installations, updates, device information, or crash and diagnostic information, under Google's own policies. That processing is controlled by Google and the Android platform rather than CatDo.
8. How we use information
Information handled by CatDo is used to:
- Provide CatDo's gameplay and productivity features
- Save your progress and preferences on your device
- Show optional local task and reward notifications
- Respond to support or feedback messages you choose to send
- Improve CatDo's stability and features based on user feedback
- Show banner and optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob
- Back up optional signed-in progress to Firebase
9. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share your locally stored CatDo save with third parties.
If you send us a support or feedback message through the in-app form, that message may be processed by our form/email delivery provider as necessary to deliver it to our support inbox. We use the information you send only for the purposes described in this policy.
When ads are shown, advertising-related data may be processed by Google AdMob / Google as an independent advertising partner under their terms and privacy policy.
10. Retention
On-device data: CatDo data stored locally remains on your device until it is removed, such as when you clear CatDo's app storage or uninstall the app.
Cloud save: If you sign in, Firebase Authentication and Firestore retain the linked save until you delete the cloud account or we complete a deletion request.
Support and feedback emails: We retain support and feedback messages only for as long as reasonably necessary to address your request, troubleshoot issues, improve CatDo, and maintain reasonable records. Messages may then be deleted or minimized when they are no longer needed.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by CatDo.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information in support or feedback emails unless it is necessary for us to understand or resolve your issue.
12. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Clear CatDo's app storage through Android settings to remove locally stored progress
- Turn off CatDo notifications through Android settings
- Uninstall CatDo to remove the app and its locally stored data
- Choose not to send support or feedback messages
- Delete your Google-linked cloud account in Settings, or request deletion from the account deletion page
- Manage AdMob privacy choices in Settings → Manage ad privacy where Google requires a consent form
- Contact us to request access to or deletion of support or feedback messages you previously sent
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable law, including rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information you have provided to us.
To make a privacy request, contact catdosupport@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
13. Children's privacy
CatDo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
In some countries or regions, a higher minimum age may apply under local law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, such as through a support message, please contact us at catdosupport@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
14. International users
CatDo is available worldwide through Google Play. Angelpet Studios is based in the United States. If you use CatDo outside the United States, your locally stored data remains on your device as described above.
If you voluntarily send us a support or feedback message, that information may be processed and stored in the United States to provide support and improve the app.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have rights under applicable data protection law, including the right to access, rectify, or erase personal information in messages you have sent us, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing support messages is your consent when you choose to send them, and our legitimate interest in operating and improving CatDo.
California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
15. Changes to this policy
CatDo is under active development, so its features and data practices may change over time.
We may update this Privacy Policy when CatDo changes. For example, we will update this policy if we introduce features such as additional analytics, paid purchases, remote push notifications, or other features that materially change how information is handled.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy.
